Leaded and Stained Glass Repair and Restoration

When it is time to repair a treasured leaded or stained glass panel in your home call on the experts with over 40 years of experience.

If the repair is only for cracked glass we can usually perform an on-site repair.  If the repair includes damaged lead and cracked glass, the damaged panel will be removed from the opening for in-shop repair. Window and door glass openings will be boarded up with plywood so you can secure your home. The door will be secure and usable.

We then disassemble your damaged piece, thoroughly clean it and replace any broken glass and damaged lead, zinc or brass came (the skeletal structure of the glass panel). Your panel is then re-assembled, delivered to your home and carefully put back into its rightful place.

This photo shows a simple leaded and stained glass panel that can usually be repaired on-site. It is a single panel of glass that has no insulating glass surrounding it. There is one broken piece of glue chip glass with no beveling and the lead is in good shape. Lead that is in good shape will not have any bending, cracking or splitting. If the repair requires replacing beveled glass, several broken pieces or lead damage it will need to be brought in for repair.

Many leaded and stained glass panels are insulated units. The leaded glass is placed between two pieces of safety tempered glass and sealed for energy efficiency and ease of cleaning. If your insulated unit is shattered we can replace the shattered glass, all broken glass, clean and re-seal. It will need to be brought in for repair.
